Bill has been a practicing Marine Surveyor in the Las Vegas, NV area including Lake Mead, Lake Mohave, Lake Havasu and the Colorado River area since 1995.

Bill served in the U.S. Coast Guard (BM2) ending service as a rescue coxswain with heavy weather certification for the 44-foot Motor-Lifeboat (MLB). Bill started his fulltime maritime career in 1977 with the U.S.C.G. Shortly after service Bill became a private corporate yacht skipper in the San Francisco Bay Area.

This experience led Bill to the tugboat industry on San Francisco Bay and Bill also had a Mobile Marine Repair business, which on his days off from Tug-boating operated for over ten years.

Bill then operated Red & White Fleet Ferries for Crowley Maritime on San Francisco Bay and then relocated to the Colorado River Area in 1994.

Bill is a U.S.C.G. Licensed Master of 500 gross tons (ITC) (5th issue [C]).

Bill acquired his Accredited Marine Surveyor® status (AMS®) with the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors® (SAMS®) in 1999 and earned  Certified Marine Investigator (CMI) status with the International Association of Marine Investigators (IAMI) in 2005.
